Our Farms

Seajoy has almost 3,000 hectares (6,000 acres) of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) under cultivation in Ecuador, Nicaragua and Honduras. Approximately 75 percent of our production comes from our farms in the Gulf of Fonseca, along the Pacific coast border of Honduras and Nicaragua.

A Larger Shrimp

We produce a larger shrimp than most other white shrimp farmers. Our average size shell-on shrimp tail is 31-35 count/pound, compared to 41-50 or 51-60 count typically produced by most farms. Our larger size shrimp is due to two factors:

  1. the ideal growing conditions in the Gulf of Fonseca
  2. we stock our ponds at lower than usual densities
