SEA TORTOISES CONSERVATION PROJECT

Aquatic Seeds S.A. (SASA), development the Sea Tortoises Conservation Project with the aim to preserve the species of marine tortoises that nest in the Pacific north of Nicaragua, Jiquilillo's community and The Salt mines, where SASA works with instructors to involve the communities in the preservation of these species.

The project began in June 2007 and was completed in January, 2008. The principal objective is the preservation of the species with the expectation of establishing 200 nests, allowing us to release 4,000 baby tortoises (tortuguillos) back into the environment.
