As a vertically-integrated producer, we have total control at each step of the shrimp-farming process. That’s why our farms produce shrimp that is certified organic by Quality Certification Services. We believe being a good steward of the environment is good for our business – and good for yours.
Organic Shrimp
Seajoy is proud to offer our customers shrimp that has been certified to be organically grown by the Quality Certification Services. QCS is an independent organization that specializes in certifying farmers and growers.
Seajoy Organic Shrimp is raised by following very strict guidelines and requirements (even our ice machine has to be de-mineralized!). We use only natural products and certified organic feeds. In addition, we can only use new ponds or ponds that have been allowed to lie fallow for several years prior to using them to grow organic shrimp. All of our organic shrimp is 100 percent traceable from the hatchery to the processing plant. Of course, growing shrimp this way costs more, but the growing list of customers for our organic shrimp say it’s well worth the extra price because more and more consumers are happy to pay a premium for organic products.
